Oxygen Conservation today announces its expansion into Europe, the launch of a
European capital raise, and the appointment of Elena Doms as Director of Europe —
a decisive step in the evolution of its institutional natural capital platform. The move
responds to accelerating demand from European investors, financial institutions and
corporate partners seeking credible, large-scale natural capital deployment at a time
when capital is ready, but proven delivery platforms remain scarce.
Since 2021, Oxygen Conservation has built a natural capital portfolio exceeding £400
million in value, spanning more than 50,000 acres across the UK. The platform is now
operating at institutional scale, with proven delivery capability and a diversified,
resilient commercial model.
In recent months, engagement from European pension funds, asset managers, banks
and corporates has accelerated. A consistent message has emerged: capital is
available and ready to deploy, but credible delivery platforms operating at scale
remain scarce.
“Europe isn’t a push for us — it’s a pull,” said Rich Stockdale, CEO of Oxygen
Conservation. “For some time now, we’ve seen consistent inbound demand from
European investors looking for intelligent platforms that work — with real assets,
positive impact and premium natural capital products at their core. Expanding into
Europe is a natural extension of a model we’ve already proven at an institutional
scale in the UK.”
Why Europe, and why now
Oxygen Conservation’s European expansion reflects a convergence of market
readiness and organisational maturity:
• Inbound demand from European institutions and corporates seeking
deployable, high-integrity nature exposure.
• A regulatory and policy environment across Europe that increasingly supports
long-term natural capital stewardship.
• A UK platform that is proven, operational and supported by the leadership,
systems and governance required to expand responsibly.
A defining appointment
Elena Doms brings deep experience across sustainable finance, impact investing,
strategic partnerships and European regulatory frameworks. She is widely
recognised as one of the leading voices in the natural capital and sustainability space,
with an established network spanning investors, policymakers and corporate leaders
across Europe.
“Oxygen Conservation has proven the model in the UK,” said Elena Doms. “Europe is
ready for natural capital at scale — but it needs delivery capability, governance, and
measurement that stand up to scrutiny. This is the right platform at the right time.”
As Director of Europe, Doms will lead European investor engagement, strategic
partnerships and capital raising, working closely with Oxygen Conservation’s senior
leadership team as the platform scales beyond the UK.
“This is a transcendent hire,” said Stockdale. “Elena doesn’t just help us execute — she
changes the trajectory of the entire sector. She believes in this mission, she matches
our pace, and she brings a level of credibility and market reach that is genuinely
exceptional. That level of alignment is rare, and it matters.”
Plans to raise new capital
2026 will mark the first year Oxygen Conservation seeks to raise external
institutional capital to acquire large landholdings across Europe which are ideally
suited for landscape-scale environmental restoration. The process is already
supported by strong early demand, reflecting confidence in the platform, the assets
and the delivery model.
Built for scale
Oxygen Conservation’s approach differs from traditional asset managers or project
developers. By acquiring and managing the underlying land, the company can deliver
restoration at landscape scale, optimise long-term ecological outcomes, and build
resilient, diversified revenue streams over decades — not project cycles — by
combining carbon and biodiversity credits with renewable energy, ecotourism, and
targeted property development. This deliberate optionality creates robustness,
alignment and multiple routes to long-term value creation.
The European expansion will follow the same principles that underpin Oxygen
Conservation’s UK operations: disciplined land acquisition, high-integrity restoration,
transparent measurement and long-term stewardship. The UK will continue as the
foundation of the platform.
Benny Higgins, Chairman of Oxygen Conservation, added:
“What matters most at this stage is credibility — credibility of assets, of governance,
and of delivery. Oxygen Conservation has built a platform in the UK that stands up to
the highest standard. Expanding into Europe and raising capital there is a natural
next step and it will be done with the same discipline, integrity and long-term focus
that has underpinned the business from the outset.”
